The GCSE Latin course prepares students for examination in summer 2010. Please use the menu on the right for full details of this Course.
Prerequisites The aim of the course is to take students from the end of Book III of the Cambridge Latin Course to GCSE examination. Therefore a knowledge of the language features contained in the first three Books of the Cambridge Latin Course is a prerequisite for the course. For information on the content of Books I to III, please visit our

and

pages. Distance learning courses are available through all three Books if required (use the menu on the left for details).
Course structure and content Visit the course overview for details of the structure and timings of the course. The course comprises four elements: language, verse literature, prose literature and Roman life. These four elements are reflected in the examination structure.
The content of GCSE Latin may change from year to year and the subject is only examined once each year, in May to June. Therefore please note that the summer examinations mark the deadline for your completion of the course, unless you do not wish to sit the exam itself.
Administration The cost of the course is £450, with e-tutor support available up to the date of the examination itself. You need to purchase four books for the course, but all other materials are provided. If you would like to enrol for this course, please visit the enrolment page where you will find the GCSE Latin Course Enrolment Form.
GCSE is a UK public examination and students are responsible for entering themselves for the exam via an examination centre. Details of the examination code and the help we can provide in finding an examination centre are available on our entering the exam page. | |
